Educentres house several "Schools within a School", providing spectacular facilities
which each school can share. Educentre is a Cathderal to Live Performance, Practical
Experience, Academic Achievement and, most important, Emotional Intelligence. Educentre
has written to the CEO of Brighton Council expressing its interest in opening an Educentre at FALMER BRIGHTON, advised Martin
Perry, Governor of Falmer and already met with the Directors of Schools and Families in Brighton. Educentre will pay the full capital cost of circa £26m of building the facility.
Existing users of the Falmer facilities will be able to continue to use the new, improved
Educentre facilities.
Politically, we believe that The Educentre Model offers the Brighton Community flexibility because the model is able to accommodate the educational agendas of all the
main parties at the same time i.e. the government's requirement for diversity and choice as enshrined in The Education Act
2006; the Liberal Democrat's recently announced 'free' school policy; the Conservative party's 'end of the state monopoly
agenda' and finally the Green party's 'community school' policy. All these school 'types' can share the facilities and
benefit from the economies of scale of the umbrella Educentre development, (all operating on a non-selection basis) and helping to
win cross-party support in Brighton with a truly imaginative but emminently practical solution that can be implemented quickly
